The Heimatsound Festival (alternative spelling also Heimatsound Festival ) has been held annually for two days in Oberammergau's Passion Play Theater since 2013 . Representatives of the Alpine music scene appear, both from the independent sector and from the new folk music . In addition, there are also the two winners of the Bavarian Broadcasting's Heimatsound band competition .

Venue

The stage and auditorium are located in the Oberammergau Passion Play Theater, from which the seating will be removed for the duration of the festival. The number of visitors is limited by the capacity of the Passion Play Theater to around 4,500. Since the 2014 festival, tickets have been sold out months before the names of the performing artists are announced. The tickets for 2017 were sold out within four hours. Bayerischer Rundfunk broadcasts the performances partly live, partly with a time delay on the broadcaster's television and radio programs.
