Christoph Weiherer (born March 19, 1980 in Burghausen ) is a Bavarian songwriter . He sings about socially and socially critical topics and performs them on the guitar and harmonica .

Career

Weiherer has appeared alone as a singer-songwriter since the beginning of 2002. He has included some of Canis Lupus' songs in his solo repertoire. In October 2002 Weiherer's first solo album Fährmann was released , with which he already attracted attention. Until 2003 he toured Germany and Austria with his program Bavarian Liedermaching .

In 2004 Weiherer was nominated for the German Folk Prize in the “Newcomer” category. In the same year his second studio album Scheiß da Hund was released . Weiherer continued to play concerts and festival appearances in German-speaking countries (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) with great public success and considerable reviews. Weiherer made it to the pre-final of the protest song contest three times with the songs Eia sissdem (2004), Und nimma auf (2005) and Undda Drugg (2010) .

In June 2006 his first live CD Wia Nix was released , which is a recording of his concert on March 11, 2006 in Passau .

Since April 2008 Weiherer has also performed the "Wechselhaare" program together with Michael Dietmayr . In the same year he was awarded the Hoyschrecke jury prize. style

Weiherer makes no secret of being influenced by the young Hans Söllner . Like him, Weiherer celebrates grievances in society, politics and interpersonal matters. He sings exclusively in the Bavarian dialect . Weiherer does not limit himself to singing about serious things, but also has cheerful, humorous topics (sometimes full of self-irony) in the repertoire.
