The Heimatsound Festival has been held annually in the Passionstheater Oberammergau since 2013

Heimatsound is a label under which various programs run on BR TV and the radio wave Bayern 2 .

The idea

With the broadcasts under the Heimatsound label, Bayerischer Rundfunk would like to give modern music from Bavaria and the Alpine region a higher priority in its television and radio programs. The Heimatsound Festival in Oberammergau, which wants to be open to related currents from the Alpine region, i.e. from Bavaria, Austria, Switzerland and South Tyrol , is also in context . Well-known names in the Heimatsound repertoire are: LaBrassBanda , Moop Mama , Konstantin Wecker , Willy Michl , Jesper Munk , G. Rag , Georg Ringsgwandl , Mathias Kellner , Jamaram , Wolfgang Buck , Claudia Koreck , Keller Steff, The Elephant Circus, Fiva and Ebow . Alpine musicians such as Hubert von Goisern , Sophie Hunger , Ganes and HMBC also shape the style .

Home sound on TV

Part of the concept of the TV program is to present different styles of music from indie pop to hip hop to classic singer / songwriters, and to offer a stage to well-known musicians as well as newcomers.

In 2011 Heimatsound started on Bavarian television with programs from the Munich Freiheiz-Halle. The home sound has been at home in the Munich club STROM since 2014. Three musicians from Bavaria and three from the Alpine region appear in the TV program. The program will be moderated by Sebastian Horn (singer of the Bananafishbones ). Before that she was presented by Sandra Rieß , Nina "Fiva" Sonnenberg , Achim 60 Bogdahn , Sebastian Winkler and Birgit Denk .

The Heimatsound Concerts series is to be distinguished from Heimatsound , in which concert recordings by individual artists are presented. The locations used to date have been the Freiheiz-Halle, the STROM Club, the Herzkasperl tent at the Munich Oktoberfest, and the Oberammergau Passion Play Theater.

Home sound on the radio

The radio show has been broadcast every Sunday at 11:30 a.m. on Bayern 2 since 2013. Heimatsound also runs in the general music program of Bayern 2.

Heimatsound Festival

Since 2013, the Oberammergau Passion Play Theater has hosted the Heimatsound Festival for two days. Relevant representatives of the Alpine music scene will perform there, in addition to well-known headliners, as well as the two winners of the Heimatsound band competition. The stage and auditorium for 4,500 visitors are in the Oberammergau Passion Play Theater, and since the 2014 festival, tickets have been sold out months before the names of the performing artists are announced. Bayerischer Rundfunk broadcasts the performances partly live, partly with a time delay on the broadcaster's television and radio programs.

Others

  • Most of the bands / artists and many more are represented on the three BR Heimatsound CDs , the first of which was released in May 2014 via Sony Music.
  • Bayerisches Fernsehen and Bayern 2 have been organizing an annual Heimatsound competition since 2014 , the winner of which was given a place on the CD in the past and was also allowed to appear at the Heimatsound Festival. The 2014 winner was the band Dexico.
