Jesper Munk (* 31 May 1992 in Munich ) is a German Blues - Soul -, rock - and folk - singer-songwriter and guitarist .

Life

Jesper was born in Munich as the son of the Danish Helle Munk and the musician Rainer Germann ( Marionetz , Cat Sun Flower ). He started playing guitar at the age of 15, and has been with the band Lila's Riot since 2010. After graduating from the municipal Luisengymnasium in Munich , he also began a solo career, performing on the street and regularly at the Fish'n Blues events at the Munich Glockenbachwerkstatt in the Glockenbachviertel . The original street musician was discovered by music editors of the Bavarian Radio .

On June 14, 2013, his debut album For In My Way It Lies was released . Jesper Munk recorded the album together with Lila's Riot bandmate and drummer Clemens Finck von Finckenstein and his father, who acts as a consultant, bassist and co-producer. Both support Jesper Munk as a band with stage appearances.

The ZDF called Jesper Munk as part of a television appearance as "Germany's hyped blues Act" and the youth magazine Bravo saw him as a "unique discovery," adding: "This is the name you should remember." In autumn 2013 Jesper Munk went on tour and could be heard on Harald Schmidt's show , from now on further TV appearances in well-known shows followed. At the end of 2013, Jesper Munk toured as the opening act for Eric Burdon's tour of Germany.

In the production of his second album Claim were Jon Spencer , Mocky and Sepalot involved.

At the end of April 2018, the third studio album Munks was released by Warner Music Germany.

Awards

At the end of December 2013, the Munich evening newspaper awarded Jesper Munk the “Star of the Year” in the “Blues” category.
