Cat Sun Flower is an indie pop band founded in Munich in 1990 , which originally called its sound “Maximum Pop” and now “Red Wine Pop for Adults”.
The band was named after the song China Cat Sunflower by Grateful Dead . Cat Sun Flower was the opening act for Oasis , The Afghan Whigs , Frank Black , The Wedding Present , Giant Sand and The Charlatans , among others .
Heidi Triska and Gerald Huber, co-founders of the Redwinetunes label , also released as a duo under the name Triska . Rainer Germann , the band's main songwriter, is also a consultant, bassist and co-producer of his son Jesper Munk . Hannes Frisch is also a guitarist with Bluekilla .
