Felix Kramer (musician)
Felix Kramer (actually Felix Pöchhacker , * 1994 in Vienna ) is an Austrian songwriter and singer-songwriter .
Career
In his youth, Pöchhacker wanted to become a professional basketball player and therefore attended a sports high school . After a broken forearm at the age of 12, he moved to a music high school . He then completed a degree in classical concert guitar at the Music and Art Private University of the City of Vienna , where he was trained by the guitarist Michael Langer , among others . He also attended selected subjects in composition and jazz theory .
After a few less successful projects such as a ska band and an electronic noise project, Pöchhacker devoted himself to his career as a songwriter around 2017. Instead of his real name, he uses his mother's surname because Felix Kramer is easier to remember and sounds more beautiful than Felix Pöchhacker . After successful performances and competitions, he published his first, self-titled EP in March 2018 , which was named by The Gap magazine as one of the most important publications in March 2018 in the "Mother tongue pop" category.
On September 21, 2018, he finally released his debut album Perception Matter , which contains all the songs from the previously released EP. The album was highly praised by critics and was represented in the Austrian charts for three weeks .
In addition to Austrian songwriters such as Ludwig Hirsch , Kramer's influences also include chansonniers such as Jacques Brel and singer-songwriters such as Bob Dylan . Also, Leonard Cohen and the band Element of Crime were called by Kramer as role models.
