The Moonband , also called The Incredible Moonband , is a German acoustic folk band from Munich, founded in 2007 .
history
The band was formed in September 2007. In the beginning she mainly appeared in pubs and bars or as a street musician , later also at concerts in other German cities. An old house in the Czech Republic serves as the studio .
Shortly after the release of the first album with the short title Open Space in August 2010, which was "Album of the Week" on Bavarian Radio , the band was working on their second album. The Signification of Denavigation was published in August 2011. Günther Klößinger wrote in the RockTimes e-zine at the time: “The underlying flair is all- Americana- impregnated and sounds so authentic that it is difficult to believe that this band comes from Munich. "
In March 2014 the third album called Atlantis was released . Andreas Schiffmann described the album on the Musikreviews.de website as the “strongest” release of the band to date and came to the conclusion: “... 'Atlantis' is above all one thing - a very own expression and a conglomeration of staged folklore with a strong rock background, conceived by Progress thinkers. ... " .
Front man Eugen Kern-Emden was also part of the benefit project Cpt. Nepomuk's Friendly Heart Choir Club , which with the title Weida mitanand reached number 17 in the German charts on July 5, 2013.
