Mouth-Crew is an eight-member hip-hop - group from Chiemgau. Funk and reggae elements are also an integral part of their music, as are German-language, sometimes socially critical texts.

Band history

The Mundwerk crew was founded in Chiemgau in 2007 in a three-man cast, consisting of the two MCs and founders of the group Tobias Klauser (alias Touze) and Sebastian Riepp (alias Sebaino) as well as Maximilian Niedergünzl (alias Dj Maximi). Klauser and Riepp have had a close friendship and a musical time together since childhood, with influences from rock , jazz and funk . The three-man combo released their first pressed sound carrier Reimwandfrei in early 2007 . Years followed with many live performances in the local area and at smaller festivals as well as support shows in front of national greats such as Beginners , Dendemann , Fiva , Texta and Dynamite Deluxe .

In 2011 they released their joint debut album, Bread for the Scene , which offers a wild mix of hip-hop , funk , reggae and experimental elements. The Mundwerk crew appeared on Bavarian television as the On3 Band of the Week and presented themselves twice live on the Südwild program . Bavarian radio stations and also the Austrian station FM4 played their music. A video production for the song The summer has followed. Soon after, the group formed a live band with drums (Christian Schnitter), bass (Michael Stettmeier), guitar (Fabian Jungreithmayr) and keyboard (Gerhard Vorauer).

In this line-up, the Mundwerk crew played their first big appearance at a festival at the Chiemsee Reggae Summer . The band LaBrassBanda was so enthusiastic about the new sound that they took the crew on a tour of Germany in autumn .

Appearances all over Germany and Austria , in clubs and at festivals followed. Her CD program from Bread for the Scene was expanded to include solo interludes and freestyle parts . Dj Maximi left the band for private reasons and shortly afterwards DJ DaMOP (Manuele Oswald Petrich) took his place at the turntables .

In 2012 the group presented itself again at the Chiemsee Reggae Summer and many other festivals. Another band member joined them, Thomas Straub on trumpet .

In 2013 the band started working on a new album . The creative phase extended over the whole year and was accompanied by live performances. The Mundwerk crew increasingly played their own headlining gigs , at festivals and in clubs. In May, the Goethe-Institut sent the band on a 10-day tour of Russia with a number of open-air festivals. Again the group played some support appearances on the LaBrassBanda European tour.

On April 4, 2014 the record #logoamstart was released on the International Bohemia label . Pre-release of the song Weiß-Blauer feat. Stefan Dettl was at the beginning of February. The song was released via Sony RCA Germany and could be heard on all major radio stations across Bavaria. The year brought over 70 concerts with a festival and autumn tour as well as large promo concerts (e.g. in the Allianz Arena Munich in front of 35,000 visitors). In addition, videos for the songs “Connected”, “Soundtrack of My Life” and an acoustic version of “Overdrift” were released. The Mundwerk crew is now represented by the booking agency Fädde Deluxe .

In the spring of 2015 the Mundwerk crew accompanied The Makemakes as support on their Austria tour. The concert played on July 31, 2015 at the Heimatsound Festival in Oberammergau was broadcast live on the radio and broadcast several times on BR .

The concert tours in 2016 brought the band to France for the Cannes Lions Festival . In the summer of that year, the band began building their own recording studio, which went into operation the following autumn. The Mundwerk crew then began work on a new sound carrier. In June 2017 the band released a video of their first pre-release "Meine Crew". The following August the band signed with the record label "FAME Artist Recordings GmbH". The next video from the single "Laut" followed in September 2017. On October 26th, 2017 the band released their new album “complementary”, which contains ten new songs and is available on vinyl for the first time. Since the end of 2017, the band has also been represented by the Austrian booking agency Spoon Agency .
