VAIT is a pop rock band from Bad Aibling .

The band around front man and songwriter Ralf Müller plays music with German-language lyrics in the field of pop / rock . VAIT plays concerts on a national and international level, both with a classical singer-songwriter line-up (2 × guitar, 2 × vocals) and with a full band.

history

Ralf Müller started his career at the age of 14 as a solo project: After the songwriter's electric guitar - who had played in the regional punk band "Faustschlag" up to now - was stolen during a performance, Müller wrote the first songs as VAIT on his old acoustic guitar. In early 2011, the album “Wo ist Heimat” was produced in-house. This was recorded in VAIT's home studio. In August 2011, Müller went on a European tour (France, Spain, Italy) and wanted to record an EP for this tour that reflected the feeling of freedom when traveling.

The production of this CD was supposed to keep the acoustic character of the predecessor, but with additional instruments. While looking for a suitable recording studio , Müller came across producer, cover band musician and guitarist Benedikt Dorn, who carried out the production and has been an integral part of the band since the EP "Freiheit above drauf".

Paul Schmitz - who was previously active in rock'n'roll bands in the region - played the drums in the production. Schmitz was known to the musicians for many years through his musical activities in the district. Marinus Schmid played bass until mid-2012, but was replaced by Paul Schmitz's former bandmate Stefan Strattner.

VAIT finished the work on their upcoming album "Ab hier ich kann sein", which was released on April 4, 2014 via FAME Artist Recordings GmbH / Sony Music Entertainment , in early 2014 .

In September 2015 (KW39) VAIT became "Favorite of the Week" with the song "Parkbank" on " Matthias Matuschik the other evening" on Bayern 3 and in November they also played on the CD release celebration of the album "Matuschkes Lieblinge Vol. 4 CD "on which they are also represented.

On April 8th, 2016 VAIT released the album "Be thankful".

On May 5th, 2016 VAIT announced that drummer Paul Schmitz will leave the band. VAIT have been playing with different drummers since then.
