Edgerton Highway

The Edgerton Highway is a major road in the inland areas of Alaska , the km over a length of 55 Chitina on the Copper River with the Richardson Highway in Copper Center connects. From Chitina the 94 km long McCarthy Road continues to McCarthy at the foot of the Wrangell Mountains .

The road follows the course of an old transport route along the Copper River. It is part of Alaska Route 10 .

The highway was named after Glenn Edgerton, a major in the United States Army and a member of the Alaska Road Commission .
