Edith Biewend

Edith Biewend (born March 30, 1923 in Moers , † February 2005 in Berchtesgaden , maiden name Edith Baumgart ) was a German writer .

Life

Edith Biewend passed the matriculation examination in 1941 and worked from 1943 to 1945 as a teacher in the Czech town of Brumov and later in Moers . Then she lived as a freelance writer in Schönau am Königssee and finally in Bischofswiesen-Strub .

Edith Biewend was the author of narrative works for children and adults. She was a member of the Plesse group of authors . In 1989 she was awarded the Ring of Honor of the City of Moers , in 1990 she received the Order of Merit of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia and in 1992 the Graphikum Literature Prize .
