Edith Helou

Edith Helou , actually Edith von Niessen , (born September 19, 1892 in Wiesbaden , German Empire , † 1979 ) was a German teacher , singer and actress and has appeared in three films in front of the camera.

Live and act

Edith von Niessen, who was born in Wiesbaden, had worked in several professions. Before she started acting, she taught English, French and Portuguese and also appeared as a singer. She married Walter Treuherz, who was five years her junior and with whom she had two children. It was only very late, at the age of 60, that she appeared in front of the camera under the pseudonym Edith Helou.

Helou first appeared as a film actress in Fernando De Barros' 1952 Brazilian drama Appassionata . She was cast in the role of a housekeeper. She was cast in a supporting role in the Brazilian comedy Esquina da Ilusão from 1953, directed by Ruggero Jacobbi, as well as in Géza from Radványi's drama Girls in Uniform with Lilli Palmer , Romy Schneider and Therese Giehse in the leading roles. Helou played the Baroness von Ehrenhardt in the film.

After the last-mentioned film, their track is lost.
