Edmund Black
Edmund Black ( Edmund Franklin "Ed" Black ; born May 3, 1905 on Bailey Island , Maine , † October 22, 1996 in Westborough , Massachusetts ) was an American hammer thrower .
In 1928 he qualified as US champion for the Olympic Games in Amsterdam . There he won the bronze medal with 49.03 m behind the Irish Pat O'Callaghan (51.39 m) and the Swede Ossian Skiöld (51.29 m).
In 1930 he became US runner-up. He set his personal best of 52.14 m on May 25, 1929 in Cambridge .
