The Edo Tokyo Open Air Architecture Museum ( Japanese 江 戸 東京 た て も の 園 , Edo Tōkyō Tatemono En, literally: "Edo Tokyo Building Garden") is a museum of historical Japanese buildings in Koganei Park in Koganei , Tokyo Prefecture , Japan .

The museum is an independent branch of the Edo Tokyo Museum , which opened on March 28, 1993. The open-air museum encompasses a variety of buildings, from the Japanese middle class to the homes of wealthy and powerful figures such as former Prime Minister Takahashi Korekiyo . The Architecture Museum allows visitors to enter and explore a wide variety of buildings of varying styles, eras, and functions, from upper-class homes and pre-war shops to public baths ( sentō ) and Western-style Meiji-era buildings that are normally inaccessible to tourists or no longer present in today's Tokyo.

The museum is divided into three areas, the western, the middle and the eastern. The Tokiwadai photo studio and residential buildings for wealthy people, such as the house of Kunio Maekawa from 1942, are located in the west zone. The house of the German architect Georg de Lalande from 1910 in the Meiji period is also located here . In the central zone, the Jisho-in mausoleum (Otama-ya) from 1652 ( Edo period ) and the house of Takahashi Korekiyo from 1902 can be seen. The East Zone houses the Kodakara bathhouse from 1929 ( Shōwa period ), the Kagiya bar from 1856 (Edo period) and commercial buildings such as stationery, flowers and soy sauces. Furthermore, here tramcars of 1962 and the Omnibus Isuzu see TSD43 from the year 1968th
