Eduard Feldner
Karl August Eduard Feldner (* 1817 ; † August 30, 1874 in Detroit ) was a German politician and educator .
life and career
From 1842 to 1849 he was a teacher at the Eduard Feldner School in Hainichen, which was named after him . He was the founder of the gymnastics club (1846) and the fatherland clubs (1848). He was a member of the Progressive Party and was elected to the Saxon state parliament in 1848. After the suppression of the revolution of 1848/1849 he had to leave Saxony and participated in the fighting in Baden and the Palatinate. Eventually he emigrated to the United States and headed the German-American seminar in Detroit.
