Eduard Grigorjewitsch Senowka ( Russian Эдуард Григорьевич Зеновка ; born  April 26, 1969 in Moscow ) is a former Russian pentathlete .

Career

In his first Olympic participation at the 1992 Games in Barcelona , he won a silver medal in the team competition with the United Team of the Countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States , in the individual competition he won the bronze medal. Four years later at the Atlanta Games , he finished second for Russia in the individual competition and thus secured another silver medal.

With the Russian team he became world champion in 1990 and 1991 . In 1997 he was third again with this. He won silver with the relay in 1999 .

In 1993 he was involved in a serious traffic accident caused by Senowka, who was found to be seriously drunk at the time of the accident. His fiancée Oksana Kostina , multiple world champion in rhythmic gymnastics , succumbed to her injuries in hospital at the age of 20. Today he is married to the gymnastics choreographer Irina Senowka .
