Eduard Grunow

Eduard Grunow (born February 28, 1869 in Berlin ; † December 21, 1954 in Bremen ) was a German lawyer and president of the Bremen Transport Authority.

biography

Grunow attended grammar schools in Berlin and Gartz (Oder) from 1880 to 1889 . He studied law in Bern , Berlin and Munich . From 1899 he was employed in various areas of the railway.

In 1920 he switched to the Bremen civil service. He became Senate Deputy Commissioner for Railway Affairs. At the end of 1920 he was appointed senior councilor. He worked for the Deputation for Ports and Railways and promoted the rail connections for the ports of Bremen. In 1930 the Bremen port railway was taken over by the Deutsche Reichsbahn . In 1934 Grunow became President of the Bremen Transport Authority. In 1942 he retired. He was reactivated in 1942 and was entrusted with the management of the Senator's business until March 31, 1945 .
