Eduard Habicher (* 1956 in Mals im Vinschgau ) is a South Tyrolean sculptor . He lives and works in Merano .

Eduard Habicher graduated from the Art Academy in Florence . His sculptures can be found in numerous public places, especially in Italy.

Habicher's steel sculptures mostly form linear structures that, with minimal intervention in the surrounding space, intensively change, break through and overcome its boundaries. Partly of immense size and often painted in fire red, the works create a symbiosis of contrasts between the weight of the material and the lightness of its dynamic shape in the clash of different materials.

The large-format sculptures are made from “standardized steel girders, which the sculptor heats red-hot in his studio and then worked to the limit of the possible. From a distance they look light as a feather - like a fleeting formation that is shaken by the next gust of wind. "
