Eduard Krah

Eduard Krah (born October 17, 1820 in Paterswalde ; † August 2, 1896 in Insterburg ) was a German high school teacher and classical philologist in East Prussia.

Life

Krah came to Braunsberg in early youth , where his father had been called as a Protestant pastor. After his death he attended the local high school from 1828. From 1838 he studied law, then philology, at the Albertus University in Königsberg . In 1839 he became active in the Corpsland Team Normannia . In May 1843 he passed the exam pro facultate docendi and was awarded a Dr. phil. PhD. He served his probationary year at the Kneiphöfisches Gymnasium until Easter 1844. Until February 1845 he was an assistant teacher at the Löbenichtschen high school . He came to the Gymnasium Gumbinnen as a substitute . From April 1846 he was a teacher at the old town high school in Königsberg. Elected by the Insterburg magistrate and confirmed by the royal cabinet order of November 8, 1857, Krah was director of the grammar school and the secondary school for 29 years. He retired in the three emperor year and died at the age of 76.
