Eduard Lampé
Arno Eduard Lampé (born November 8, 1886 in Kleinheubach ; † August 4, 1974 ) was a German internist.
Career
Lampé, a son of the privy councilor Eduard Lampé, attended the Goethe-Gymnasium in Frankfurt am Main , where he graduated from high school in 1904, and studied medicine at the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen . In 1904 he became active in the Corps Franconia Tübingen . After passing the medical state examination (1910), he briefly became an assistant doctor in 1910 with Ernst von Romberg in Tübingen, then at the surgical clinic in Frankfurt am Main and at the institute for experimental surgery there with Ludwig Rehn . In March 1911 he was promoted to Dr. med. PhD. After his time in Frankfurt he was Emil Abderhalden's assistant until the end of March , first at the Physiological Institute in Berlin, then in Halle (Saale) . From April 1913 to July 1914 Lampé was assistant, from August 1, 1914 senior physician at the 1st Medical Clinic in Munich again with Ernst von Romberg. A serious car accident interrupted his career and Lampé himself had to undergo several operations.
On October 1, 1932, he joined the medical management of the Neuwittelsbach Clinic and became chief physician there in March 1933. After the house was destroyed during World War II , he joined the Red Cross . In 1945 he temporarily took over the management of the 1st and 2nd Medical Clinic in Munich, which he rebuilt after the war. In 1946 he was appointed honorary professor at the Medical Faculty of the University of Munich .
Almost 100 handbook and magazine articles on protein metabolism, physiology and pathology of the thyroid and thymus glands, diseases of the gastrointestinal tract and dietetics come from Lampé . He was a member of the scientific advisory board of "Medical Research" and of the "Zentralblatt für Verkehrsmedizin". In addition to his own specialist field, Lampé also dealt with ancient history and had a "significant share" in the historical works of the ancient historian Ernst Kornemann from Wroclaw, who was close to him .
