Eduard Prosch (politician)

Eduard Prosch (born May 19, 1932 in Koblenz ) is a German trade unionist , CDU politician and former member of the Hamburg Parliament .

Life

After completing his secondary school leaving certificate, Eduard Prosch completed a commercial apprenticeship in wholesaling with a qualification as a business assistant . After a time in wholesaling, he switched to the German Employees' Union as a trainee in 1953 . There he rose to become state youth leader and managing director in Trier. After four semesters of visiting economics at the University of Hamburghe was appointed head of the "front office" of the DAG. With the "bogus companies", young people were given a playful introduction to economic activity. From 1963 onwards, he held a number of roles in the field of youth policy, including federal youth leader of the DAG, deputy chairman of the German Federal Youth Association, deputy chairman of the German national committee for international youth work .

From 1975 to 1984 he worked as an employee of the Hanse-Merkur insurance group, from 1979 on as a member of the board. 1984 managing director of the "Children's Fund for Third World" in Hamburg, 1986 managing partner of a personal consulting company.

He has lived in Halle (Saale) since 1995. He works there as a volunteer hospice helper and was chairman of the hospice care association.

The CDU member Eduard Prosch served as CDU state manager for Hamburg from 1972 to 1975. In 1966 he was elected to the Hamburg parliament for the first time. Until 1991 he worked there mainly in the committees for work, youth and social affairs , the health committee and in the committee for the situation and the rights of foreigners .
