German National Committee for International Youth Work

The German National Committee for International Youth Work (DNK) is a coordinating body for European and international youth work of the German Federal Youth Association , the German Sports Youth and the Ring of Political Youth . In this working group, the agreements on the joint international work of the German youth organizations since 1963 have been made. It bundles the interests of young people and represents them across national borders in the international arena.

construction

The DNK is a working group made up of three pillars:

  1. the German Federal Youth Association (DBJR) with around 6 million members
  2. the Ring Politischer Jugend (RPJ) with around 200,000 members
  3. the German Sports Youth (dsj) with around 10 million members.

The board consists of four people from the DBJR, three people from the RPJ and one person from the dsj. A speaker is chosen from this. The board of directors is supported by a four-person external representation team.

tasks

The task is to bundle the interests of young people in youth organizations and to represent them in Europe and worldwide.

Alongside the German Society for the United Nations (DGVN), the DNK is one of the two supporting organizations of the UN youth delegate program .

The DNK sends representatives to the European umbrella organization, the European Youth Forum , where it represents the interests of young people in Germany. It also works in the Advisory Council on Youth of the Council of Europe on questions of youth participation , human rights and democracy .

The DNK works with partner youth groups in the Benelux Islands Central Cooperation in order to effectively pursue common interests in the European Youth Forum.

In addition, within the framework of the Eastern Partnership, the DNK has a long-term cooperation with youth rings and is involved in cooperation with the Baltic Sea.

The current spokesperson for the DNK is Kirsten Hasenpusch ( German Sports Youth ). Co-speakers are Rebecca Morsch ( Green Youth ), Marius Schlageter ( German Federal Youth Association ) and Christoph Hörl ( Young Union ).
