from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Franz Jörissen (born August 31, 1895 in Kötzschenbroda ; † October 14, 1996 in Radebeul ) was a German builder .

Live and act

After studying architecture at the royal building school in Dresden , the trained carpenter founded his own construction business in Kötzschenbroda after the First World War . He helped shape the image of the town of Radebeul through numerous renovations and new buildings . In 1924, for example, he built the new building for the chocolate specialties manufacturer Vadossi at Fabrikstrasse 4 in Kötzschenbroda.

After the Second World War, Jörissen played a key role in setting up the local history museum in Hoflößnitz .

In particular, during the GDR era, Jörissen campaigned for the preservation of the decaying baroque house in the Niederlößnitz district of Radebeul , a neighboring building of Wackerbarth Castle , together with the volunteer Aktiv für Denkmalpflege Radebeul . He had the same success in saving the bishop's press in Zitzschewig . At the beginning of the 1970s, on Jörissen's initiative, the first security and maintenance measures were carried out on the Sorge-free house in Oberlößnitz, which had been taken over by the Radebeul building management company shortly before .

Some of the works created by Jörissen are now listed .

Jörissen lived in a winegrower's house at Niederlößnitzer Borstrasse 55, which had belonged to his family since 1866. His grave is in the Radebeul-West cemetery .
