Eduard Rieger (politician, 1946)

Eduard "Edi" Rieger (born February 9, 1946 in Wenns ; † December 16, 2018 in Innsbruck ) was an Austrian politician ( FPÖ ) and innkeeper. From 2013 to 2018 he was a member of the Tyrolean state parliament .

Life

Rieger attended primary school in Schwaz between 1952 and 1956 and the local secondary school from 1956 to 1960. Between 1960 and 1963 he learned the trade of machine fitter and worked between 1983 and 1990 as managing director and from 1990 to 2006 as an innkeeper. Rieger ran in the state elections in 2013 in fourth place on the FPÖ state list and was the FPÖ's top candidate in the state constituency of Schwaz , where he subsequently moved into the state parliament via the state list. Rieger was sworn in as a member of the state parliament on May 24, 2013 and was a member of the Committee on Labor, Social Affairs and Health and a member of the Committee on Agriculture, Forestry, Transport and the Environment. He was also a city councilor in Schwaz.

Eduart Rieger succumbed to multiple organ failure on December 16, 2018 at the Innsbruck University Hospital.
