Eduard Robert Bary

Eduard Robert Bary (born December 2, 1813 in Dresden ; † June 28, 1875 there ) was a German portrait and history painter.

Eduard Robert Bary studied at the Royal Art Academy in Dresden and from 1837 to 1840 at the Royal Prussian Art Academy in Düsseldorf . In Düsseldorf, Karl Ferdinand's son was his teacher.

Bary came to Italy on a Saxon scholarship in 1840 and lived in Rome from January 1841 to summer 1843. He became a member of the German artists' colony and was friends there with Ludwig Haach .

From November 1849 he worked as a teacher and from 1853 as a professor at the Dresden Art Academy.

On behalf of the Saxon government, he made cardboard boxes for the stained glass windows in the church in Wildenfels in the Ore Mountains.

He also painted miniature pictures of bouquets.
