Eduard Rohde

Eduard Rohde (born September 25, 1828 in Halle , † March 25, 1883 in Berlin ) was a German composer and organist .

Life

Eduard Rohde was a student of August Gottfried Ritter . He was a singing teacher and royal music director in Berlin. He composed piano pieces, motets , part songs, instrumental and vocal works. He died at the age of 54. The American composer and organist Arthur Bird was one of his students . His son Eduard Rohde junior (1856–1900) also worked as an organist and composer.
