Eduard Stettler

Eduard Stettler (* 5. February 1880 in Bern , † 21st October 1940 ibid ) was a lawyer.

Coming from the Stettler patrician family in Bern , he was materially independent and, as a bachelor, was free to dispose of his time. He had studied law, sociology and other subjects in Heidelberg and Bern . As chairman of the Bern Society in Ober-Gerwern , he was the point of contact for many people with legal problems, and the heavy smoker also founded a sanatorium for drinking .

Stettler had learned Esperanto in 1908 . Between 1920 and 1934 he was twice chairman of the World Esperanto Federation .
