Eduard Weber von Webersfeld

Adalbert Eduard Friedrich Edler von Webersfeld (* 1812 in Galicia , Austrian Empire , † November 6, 1847 in Vienna ) was an Austrian dance teacher , conductor and musician in the orchestra of Johann Strauss Sohn .

Life

Until 1835 he was a dance teacher in the Hungarian Life Guard, then until 1841 Kapellmeister in the 1st Garrison of the Cuirassier Regiment No. 1 of Carl Graf von Palfi, then briefly at the Court Theater in Vienna and until 1847 in the orchestra of Johann Strauss Son, where he played and led the balls, u. a. in the Café Dommayer in Hietzing and at the show of the soldiers of the 2nd regiment of the bourgeois guard. He also took part in the Strauss tour, u. a. in Graz , Ungarisch-Altenburg, Pest-Ofen (today Budapest ). Webersfeld was married and had four daughters and one son.

Johann Strauss Sohn dedicated the Wilhelminen-Quadrille op. 37 (1847) to Weber von Webersfeld, whose wife was Wilhelmine (nee Zerffi).
