Eduardo Dagnino

Eduardo Dagnino (born January 1, 1876 in Palermo , † January 30, 1944 in Rome ) was an Italian musicologist, composer and chess composer .

Dagnino studied music with Guglielmo Zuelli at the Palermo Conservatory . From 1913 he was professor of music history at the Pontificio Istiuto di Musica Sacra in Rome.

Among other things, he wrote a monograph on Marco Enrico Bossi and L'archivio musicale di Montecassino , and he composed motets, preludes and pieces for organ, a minuet for strings and songs.

Dagnino was also a chess composer and worked for the chess magazines L'Eco degli Scacchi (1916) and L'Italia Scacchistica (1917-18).
