Vocal music and orchestral works

  • Missa pro defunctis op.83 for mixed choir with harmonium or organ ad libitum (first version 1892/93; second version 1906; new edition 2019)
“The conclusion right from the start: What a lovely work! The Requiem by Marco Enrico Bossi is worth to be rediscovered and performed. It is suitable for both concert performances and - due to its manageable length - for liturgical performances and should be feasible for many choirs. The informative foreword by the editor Guido Johannes Joerg as well as the critical report provide further information [on the history of origin]. All of this is just as exemplary as this edition. This music is far from boring, on the contrary. Bossi composed a highly individual and extremely charming work that is strongly recommended to every choir. It really doesn't always have to be the usual suspects like Mozart , Cherubini , Dvořák or Rutter . Bossi's Requiem is an absolutely worthwhile alternative. "
