Live and act

Polibio Fumagalli was the brother of Adolfo , Carlo , Disma and Luca Fumagalli . During this time he also took part in some of his brother Adolfo's concerts in Milan and the surrounding area. He graduated in flute and composition in 1852 and became organist and conductor in Vimercate the following yearin the Milan area. Another year later he got the same offices at the Church of San Celso in Milan, which he held for 35 years and only gave up in 1889 for health reasons. In 1873 Polibio became a lecturer for the organ at the Conservatory in Milan - a position he held until the end of his life - he also taught privately, organized organ concerts in Milan and the surrounding area, directed choirs, acted as an organ expert and was a sought-after piano teacher. He also took part in various discussions on the organ system in Italy and took care of a new organ built according to his ideas at the Milan Conservatory; this instrument was inaugurated in 1893.
