Eduardo Méndez Gaa (born November 3, 1969 in Uruguay ) is a German-Uruguayan journalist and publicist .

Méndez Gaa grew up bilingual in Montevideo . After studying political science at the University of Stuttgart , he started working for Deutsche Welle TV in Berlin in 2000. As a producer he realized a. a. the Spanish journal of DW-TV , he also produced the 2009 DW-TV special on the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. In 2000 he worked as a writer for United Visions (including for MDR, Pro7 etc.) Since 2012 he has been deputy head of DW (Español) .

From 2006 to 2008 he edited the Spanish-language culture magazine B2 magazine . In 2010 Méndez Gaa produced the special programs in Berlin and Mexico for DW-TV on the 200th anniversary of the Latin American independence movements. DW-TV was relaunched in 2012 , and Deutsche Welle's television division is now only called DW. Méndez Gaa participated in the realignment of the new Spanish-language 24-hour broadcaster of DW, DW (Español) . He is responsible for the social media presence of the regional version of DW. In 2015, he began correspondence in Latin America for DW Latinoamérica in Colombia and accompanied the peace process on site until April 2016. Méndez Gaa reported u. a. from the elections in Argentina and Venezuela.

Méndez-Gaa has been Head of News at DW (Español) since July 2019.

Méndez Gaa lives in Berlin. In 2016 he founded the Berlin band Kultkombinat.
