Eduardo Miranda Sousa

Eduardo Miranda Sousa (born June 29, 1909 in Barranco , Lima , † October 23, 1990 in Lima) was a Peruvian engineer and politician .

Career

Miranda Sousa was born to Catalino Miranda Segundo Quevedo and Ángela Sousa Matute. He received his education at the Colegio San José de Cluny and the German School in Lima. He then studied at the Escuela Nacional de Ingenieros , where he graduated in civil engineering in 1940. In the following years he was active in his profession.

His political career began in 1950, when he for the Department of Tumbes in the House of Representatives of the Congress was elected. Two years later, President Manuel A. Odría brought him into his cabinet and appointed him Minister for Development, a position he held from August 4, 1952 to July 26, 1954. In the absence of Ricardo Rivera Schreiber , he also acted as foreign minister on several occasions .

In the 1954–1955 electoral period he served as President of the Chamber of Deputies. In 1956 he gave up his mandate and retired into private life.
