Ricardo Rivera clerk

Ricardo Rivera Schreiber (born December 11, 1892 in Lima , † July 25, 1969 in Boston , Massachusetts ) was a Peruvian diplomat and politician . He was his country's ambassador to Spain , Italy and Great Britain . From August 4, 1952 to August 11, 1954, he was Foreign Minister.

Life

Ricardo Rivera Schreiber was the son of Julia Esther Schreiber Waddington, a daughter of the Austrian businessman and consular agent in Huaraz , Aloys Schreiber, and Ricardo Rivera Navarrete. His brother was Eduardo Rivera Schreiber. In 1916 he received his bachelor's degree and doctorate in law . In 1917 he was the third-class delegation secretary in La Paz , where he married Mercedes Urquidi de Tezanos-Pinto, the daughter of Elvira Tezanos-Pinto Caso and Carlos Urqidi Ginés. In 1919 he was a member of the Peruvian Mission in preparation for the League of Nations in London . From 1919 to 1927 he was temporarily chargé d' affaires in London. In 1928 he was permanent representative of the Peruvian government at the permanent court of arbitration in The Hague . From 1929 to 1931 he was envoy in Quito . From 1932 to October 1936 he was legal counsel for the Cerro de Pasco Corporation . From October 1936 he was envoy to Tokyo . In November 1937 Diómedes Arias Schreiber sent him to Bogotá to conclude a customs treaty . In 1940 he married Teresa Kroll Müller outside of Japan. He learned of the attack on Pearl Harbor from the caretaker of the consulate in Yokohama , who had ties to the Amur Union , and informed Edward Savage Crocker II . In August 1942 he belonged to the diplomatic group that was exchanged with the Asama Maru via Lourenço Marques . From November 23, 1943 to March 11, 1946 he was envoy to Spain. From April 25, 1945 to June 26, 1945, he headed the Peruvian delegation to the San Francisco Conference . On March 11, 1946, he was accredited as ambassador to Rome . From August 4, 1952 to August 11, 1954 he was Foreign Minister intermittently with Eduardo Miranda Sousa
