Edvard Fendler

Edvard Fendler (born January 22, 1902 in Leipzig ; † July 1, 1987 ) was a German conductor .

Life

Fendler studied at the Stern Conservatory and made his debut as a conductor in 1927. He then worked as a conductor in Germany, France and the Netherlands and from 1930 to 1933 directed the symphony chamber orchestra in Berlin. From 1942 to 1944 he was the conductor of the Trujillo Symphony Orchestra in the Dominican Republic. From 1952 he conducted the Mobile Symphony Orchestra in Alabama, and from 1957 to 1970 he was director of the Symphony of Southeast Texas . He recorded with the record labels His Master's Voice , L'Oiseau-Lyre and Vox en Boîte à Musique , preferring unknown compositions.
