Edvard Rønning

Edvard Normann Rønning (born May 4, 1952 in Trondheim , Norway ) is a Norwegian playwright , dramaturge and screenwriter .

Life

Rønning studied drama in the United States , where he earned a master's degree. Rønning then taught at the Technical University of Science and Norway ( NTNU ) film and theater studies in Trondheim and was long active as a university teacher of drama ten years and entrusted with a professor. In 1997 Rønning founded a course for screenwriting at Den norske filmskolen in Lillehammer , which he directed himself until September 2005. Rønning also worked as a dramaturge at Trøndelag Teater and for the NRK . He has also worked on a number of courses for screenwriters at home and abroad. Rønning was also involved in the development of starting scripts and screenplays for Statens Studiesenter for film (formerly known as Filmutviklingen ). Rønning also worked as a consultant for Audiovisuelt Produksjonsfond , Nordisk Film and the TV fund , as well as working for a number of producers and directors.

Awards

Edvard Rønning was awarded the Ibsen Prize ( Ibsenprisen ) for promoting Norwegian drama in 1990 for his work Himmelplaneten and won second prize in a competition at the Nationaltheatret on Liberation Day.
