Edvarts Buivids (born December 4, 1993 in Sigulda ) is a Latvian volleyball and beach volleyball player .

Career hall

From the age of 15 Buivids was part of the Latvian youth and junior national team. From 2011 to 2014 he played for Lase-R Riga . Then he switched to ASK Kuldīga . In 2016 the diagonal attacker was appointed to the senior national team for the first time . With the national team he took part in the qualification for the European Championship 2017 , in which the Latvians lost to Estonia in the last round. Buivids then moved to VK Pärnu , with whom he was Estonian runner-up in 2017. He was then committed by the German Bundesliga club SWD Powervolleys Düren . With the Düren, he reached the playoff quarter-finals of the Bundesliga . After the season he left the club and switched to Lindaren Volley Luzern for the 2019/2020 season.

Career Beach

In 2012 Buivids reached seventh place with Reinis Pekmans at the U20 European Championships in Hartberg . In 2013 the duo finished ninth in the U21 World Cup in Umag . In 2014 Buivids formed a duo with Ruslans Sorokins . At the Fuzhou Open he completed his first tournament on the FIVB World Tour and then the first Grand Slam in Shanghai . Two 17th places were the best results in the world series. At the CEV Satellite tournament in Lausanne , Buivids / Sorokins finished ninth. In addition, Buivids was fifth with Pekmans at the U23 World Cup in Mysłowice . After that he only played a few national tournaments.
