Edward Blore
Edward Blore (born September 13, 1787 in Derby , † September 4, 1879 in London ) was a British architect and antiquarian .
Blore is best known for completing the renovation of London's Buckingham Palace after previously commissioned architect John Nash was sacked. Blore also worked at Lambeth Palace and St James' Palace in London, as well as the Salisbury Tower of Windsor Castle , for the Vorontsov Palace in Alupka in what is now Ukraine and developed designs for the Government House in Sydney, Australia.
Blore was friends with Sir Walter Scott . The architects Philip Charles Hardwick (1822-1892) and Frederick Marrable (1819-1872) learned from him, and William Mason (1810-1897) worked with him. He was a member of the Royal Society and is one of the founders of the Royal Archaeological Institute .
