Edward Fröhling

Edward Fröhling SAC (born October 7, 1975 in Iserlohn ) is a German theologian .

Life

From 1995 to 2000 he studied Catholic theology at the theological faculty in Vallendar until he graduated ( The Scream in Front of the Dark Face of God - An Exegetical Borderline Diploma thesis in the field of exegesis of the Old Testament). From 1996 to 2000 he was a freelance worker in the educational team at Haus Wasserburg (the Pallottine youth and family education center in Vallendar). He was awarded the Koblenz University Prize from the Business and Science Promotion Group in 2000. From 2000 to 2001 he was youth education advisor at Haus Wasserburg. During the novitiate (2001–2003) to join the Pallottine community, he completed a nursing internship at the Vinzenz-Pallotti-Hospital in Bensberg in 2002 and a parish internship in the project Church in the Social Focal Point of St. Christophorus Church (Berlin-Neukölln) . From 2003 to 2006 he was school and boarding school chaplain at the Vinzenz-Pallotti-Kolleg, Rheinbach . From 2004 to 2008 he completed a doctoral degree in the Department of Fundamental Theology at the University of Passau summa cum laude with Martha Zechmeister and Wolfgang Treitler . Bishop Franz Kamphaus ordained him a priest in 2006. In the winter semester 2009/2010 he was appointed junior professor for fundamental theology and theology of spirituality at the PTH Vallendar . In 2010/2011 and 2011/2012 he gave guest lectures in the field of ecumenical theology in the Jerusalem theological academic year at the Dormition Abbey . From 2009 to 2013 he was student chaplain at the PTHV. From 2009 to 2014 he was Vice Dean of the Faculty of Theology. On July 20, 2018, he was appointed full professor of fundamental theology.
