Marika Aychesh Carlsson (born March 19, 1973 in Ethiopia ) is a Swedish comedian and presenter .

life and career

Marika Carlsson was born in Ethiopia . There she was first found dead by Swedish helpers in the famine in Ethiopia, but was resuscitated. Two years later she was adopted by a Swedish couple. After the first few years in Mönsterås , the family moved to Lund , where Carlsson went to school and later studied theology . Before starting as a stand-up comedian, she worked as a nurse.

From 2010 to 2014 she toured with her autobiographical stand -up performance En negers uppväxt (German: A Negro Upbringing), which is based on her experiences as an adopted child and adult with bullying, racism, the search for identity and tearful events.

Between 2014 and 2016 she played the radio show Marika on the radio station P4 on Fridays . She also gives lectures on body language, performance art, and life inspiration.

In 2006 and 2012 she was named "Comedian of the Year" by Svenska Stand up-galan .

In 2019 she moderated the Melodifestivalen 2019 together with Eric Saade , Sarah Dawn Finer and Kodjo Akolor .
