Career

Efi Sfyri achieved a first notable success with 9th place at an FIVB tournament in 1998. In 1999 she achieved the same placement at the European Championships with her partner Vassiliki Karadassiou . At the 2000 Summer Olympics , the two finished 17th with just one victory. A year later they won the European Championships in Venice . In the same year the world championship in Klagenfurt only ended up in the round of 16. In 2002 Sfyri / Karadassiou were able to achieve third place at the FIVB tournament in their own country on Rhodes. At the European Championships in 2003 and 2004 , the two could not repeat the success of 2001 and finished fifth. At the 2004 Summer Olympics in their own country, the Greeks survived the preliminary round, but failed as they did at the 2001 World Cup in the round of 16. At their last joint tournament, the Turkish Open 2005, Karadassiou / Sfyri took fifth place. Subsequently, Sfyri ended her career.
