Efim Resser

Efim Resser (born February 27, 1952 in the former Soviet Union ) is a former basketball referee . The father of two families, who lives in Berlin, works as an insurance agent and was initially an arbitrator in his home country from 1972 and for the German Basketball Federation (DBB) from 1992 . Since 1985 Resser has directed games on an international level, including the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona .

According to his own statements, the 1.79 m tall Resser became a referee by chance. As a 17-year-old player, he was appointed referee by his coach when referees were missing from a game. He found pleasure in this job, especially since his prospects for a career as a player were rather modest. From 1985 he whistled with FIBA license at international level, including three basketball world championships and five basketball European championships . A highlight was his participation as a referee at the Olympic Games in 1992, where he was allowed to lead a game of the so-called original dream team . Resser has directed more than 500 international games.

After reaching the age limit, Resser works as a technical inspector for basketball games on a national and international level.
