Before the start of the 2006/07 season he moved to FC Barcelona , where he could not prevail. At the end of 2007 he returned to Mexico, where he has been under contract with the UNAM Pumas since then.
He made his debut as a professional player in the ranks of the university club on January 2, 2008 in an InterLiga game against CF Monterrey , which the Pumas won 1-0, but in the end were bottom of the group and thus missed the qualification for the Copa Libertadores .

On June 28, 2009 Juarez made his debut in the ranks of the Mexican national team in a friendly against Guatemala, which was played in the USA and ended goalless. His greatest success wearing the national team was winning the CONCACAF Gold Cup in 2009 . At this tournament, Juárez had played all games in full.
In the summer of 2010 Juarez moved to Scotland to Celtic Glasgow , where he signed a 4-year contract. Until January 2012, Juárez was loaned to Real Zaragoza . In June he moved back to his home country for Club America . After he was loaned to CF Monterrey for one season , the club signed him completely in 2014. In January 2018, his move to the Vancouver Whitecaps was announced. On February 1, his contract with the Major League Soccer club was canceled on both sides.
