Naomi Bentley

Naomi Bentley (born 1982 ) is a British or Australian actress .

Life

Bentley completed a three-year acting course at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in 2004 . She made her television debut in an episode of the television series Holby City in 2004 , followed by an appearance on Blue Murder .

As a stage actress , she has appeared in the plays Burn by Deborah Gearing , Chatroom by Enda Walsh and Citizenship by Mark Ravenhill at the National Theater in London . In 2005 she played Martha in the play Martha Loves Michael at the Pleasence Theater in Edinburgh at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and in 2006 the role of Leah in the play Beautiful Thing by Jonathan Harvey at the Sound Theater. In 2009 she played the role of Gabrielle York (as a young woman) at the Almeida Theater in London in the new play When the Rain Stops Falling by the Australian playwright Andrew Bovell . Critics praised her "beautiful vulnerability" as an unhappy young woman who falls in love with Tom .

Bentley's other TV and film roles since 2004 have been Maria Jackson in the crime series Dalziel and Pascoe , Leonilda in Casanova , Rachel in the British sitcom Grownups and the role of Shelley in the Channel 4- produced film The Mark of Cain . The second season of the science fiction series Primeval , in which Bentley played a leading role, was shown on ITV in March and April 2008.

She starred in the BBC comedy Mutual Friends alongside Marc Warren , Keeley Hawes , Sarah Alexander and Alexander Armstrong . In 2008 she also starred in the role of medical student Holly Farr in the crime series Forensic Medicine Dr. See Leo Dalton . In 2009 she had an episode lead role in the Christmas special of the British mystery series Jonathan Creek .
