Eftychia Stavrianopoulou

Eftychia Stavrianopoulou ( Greek Ευτυχία Σταυριανοπούλου ; * December 14, 1962 in Athens ) is a Greek ancient historian .

Eftychia Stavrianopoulou studied history, archeology and classical philology at the University of Athens from 1980 to 1984 and graduated with a diploma. Since 1984 she has continued her studies in the subjects of Ancient History , Classical Archeology and Prehistory and Early History at the University of Heidelberg , where she worked with Fritz Gschnitzer in 1987 with the dissertation investigating the structure of the empire of Pylos. The position of the localities in the light of the Linear B texts was promoted. From 1988 to 1993 Stavrianopoulou was a postdoctoral fellow of the German Research Foundation . In 1992 she became a lecturer in ancient history in Heidelberg, in 1994 a research assistant and in 1999 a university assistant at the chair of Fritz Gschnitzer. In 2001/02 Stavrianopoulou was supported with a re-entry scholarship as part of the university and science program to promote women in science. In 2003 he completed his habilitation with the work group picture with lady. Investigations into the legal and social position of women in the Cyclades in Hellenism and during the Roman Empire and the granting of the Venia Legendi for ancient history at the Philosophical Faculty of Heidelberg University. From 2003 to 2009 Stavrianopoulou was a research assistant in the sub-project ritual and communication in the urban communities of Greece of the Collaborative Research Center 619, ritual dynamics. Socio-cultural processes from a historical and cross-cultural perspective of the University of Heidelberg. In March 2007 she was awarded the title of "Extraordinary Professor". In the 2007/2008 winter semester, Stavrianopoulou was a professor at the University of Bochum .

Stavrianopoulou's main research areas are the early Greek written sources ( Linear B ), the social history of Hellenistic Greece, the history of women in ancient Greece, the history of the Cyclades and the Dodecanese , Greek epigraphy and the history of Greek religion and law . Since 2011 she has been assistant editor at the Supplementum Epigraphicum Graecum .
