Egbert Jan Bakker
Egbert Jan Bakker (born November 12, 1958 in Amsterdam ) is a Dutch classical philologist .
Life
He received his PhD in 1988 from the University of Leiden . In 1992 he was a fellow at the Dutch Institute for Advanced Studies in the Humanities and Social Sciences for several months . He taught at the University of Leiden, the University of Virginia , the University of Texas at Austin and the Université de Montréal before joining Yale University in 2004 .
In 1999 he became a corresponding member of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences .
