Egbert Moehsnang

Egbert Moehsnang (born December 9, 1927 in Amberg ; † November 26, 2017 in Schüpfen ) was a Swiss painter , glass artist and copperplate engraver .

Life

Egbert Moehsnang lived in Switzerland from 1950. There were first exhibitions from around 1955. From 1961 to 1963 he worked in Rome. He participated in the graphic exhibitions Ljubljana 1963, L'estampe en Suisse 1970 in Lausanne, La nouvelle gravure 1974 in Paris , International Triennial of Colored Prints 1975 in Grenchen (winner).

Since 1963 Moehsnang exhibited in the Kornfeld Gallery in Bern, which showed a retrospective in 2003 . In the following years he used the computer as a work tool and created large-format gravure prints with it.

Moehsnang lived and worked secluded in Schüpfen in an old, isolated farmhouse.

Moehsnang's paintings and engravings were often created on the background of sacred or mythological content. He has created several works from a series of copper engravings, some combined with other techniques.
