Egelhofen is a district of the Upper Swabian market Pfaffenhausen .
geography
The place Egelhofen is about two kilometers south of Pfaffenhausen and is connected to the main town by a local road. Mindelberg, Heinzenhof and Hertlehof belong to Egelhofen.
history
Egelhofen was first mentioned in 1167 when the abbot Isingrim gave a relic to the neighboring Ottobeuren monastery , when Egelhofen also received relics. In 1246 Schwigger von Mindelberg and his son Heinrich donated the fiefdom of the church and the Maierhof zu Egelhofen to the Rottenbuch monastery . The parish of Egelhofen became a branch of the parish of Oberauerbach in 1443. Egelhofen was pastored by the Pfaffenhausen parish from 1667. The place belonged to the Rottenbuch monastery until the secularization in 1803.
Pastoral care has been carried out by the Missionaries of the Precious Blood in Baumgärtle since 1950 .
On May 1, 1978, the previously independent Egelhofen was incorporated into the Pfaffenhausen market.
Attractions
The subsidiary church of St. Margareta is a sight of the place.
