Egidijus Klumbys

Egidijus Klumbys (born September 2, 1952 in Kaunas ) is a former Lithuanian politician, deputy minister , neurosurgeon and lecturer.

Life

After graduating from the Salomėja Nėris Middle School in Kaunas , he studied at the Kauno medicinos institutas (KMI) from 1970 to 1976, and from 1979 to 1982 he studied law at the Academician N. Burdenko Institute, from 1992 to 1996 at the Faculty of Law of the Vilniaus universitetas . In 1983 he received his doctorate in medicine. From 1982 to 1990 he was head of the neurosurgery laboratory at the KMI. On August 19, 1991, Lithuanian Prime Minister Gediminas Vagnorius appointed him Deputy Foreign Minister of Lithuania in the Vagnorius I cabinet . On January 20, 1992, Prime Minister Vagnorius appointed him first deputy to the Minister of Transport of Lithuania in the Vagnorius I cabinet.

From 1998 to 2001 he taught at the Lietuvos teisės universitetas in Vilnius . From 2000 to 2002 he was a member of the Vilnius Municipality Council and from 2000 to 2012 a member of the Seimas .
