Egmont von Hoßtrup full name Gotthilft Egmont von Hoßtrup also Gotthilf Egmont von Hostrup or Hoßtrupp (born October 1, 1813 in Hamburg ; † June 14, 1876 ibid) was a publisher, theater director and head of the Hamburg stock exchange hall.

Life

Egmont von Hoßtrup was the eldest son Gerhard von Hoßtrups and Sophie Henriette Elisabeth Seyler. From 1832 he studied law and cameral science in Göttingen and Heidelberg and completed his studies in Heidelberg in 1835 with a doctorate in law. He was registered as a lawyer in Hamburg on November 27, 1835, but basically never actually practiced the law . In 1837 he became a partner in his father's company. On April 12, 1845, he married Carolina A. Tesdorpf. After the death of his father, he took over the management of the Hamburg stock exchange hall. He was editor of the journals list of the Börsenhalle and literary and critical papers of the Börsenhalle . In 1852 he gave up the management of the Börsenhalle and since then has lived as a privateer , d. H. of his fortune. In 1855 he took over the management of the city theater.
